Am I crazy to do this? We can't afford wood windows in all of our house. We have 18 windows to replace and live in the Bay Area in CA....very expensive labor costs. Would it be bad to do Pella or Anderson windows upstairs in wood? Our upstairs is our living room, kitchen etc....looks like a cabin and I think it would look kind of cheesy to do vinyl windows. However, the downstairs has our bedrooms....I was thinking it would be o.k. to do vinyl down there. Currently we have single pain alum. windows...so really, anything is an improvement. However, I wanted to get your opinion regarding re-sale value and looks if we went this route. Thanks! June

really it isn't all that uncommon for people to go w/ two different styles of windows to save money...the fancy room s get the nice looking windows...and the other rooms get the purely functional windows...and as far as resale value of the house the important thing is that there are new windows...if money is an issue i'd say go for it
