I know sometime in the past, I saw a program where Bob Vila added soldered lead to an existing glass door to give it a leaded glass look.

Does anyone remember this or have any information on this process?

Thanks,

I did see them so that on This Old House, but it was much later than when Bob was the host.

It was the Santa Barbara project.

From what I was able to see they used a premade lead with an adhesive backing. Then when there the section crossed they solder the joints. Not for sthrenght, but to make it look like conventional leaded work.

Then they used some metal patination chemicals to give the lead a dark color.

Rocklers has "decorative lead" with an adhesvie backing. But I don't know if it is real lead that can be soldered.
