I recently moved into a gut rehabbed building. They put a new back porch on but didn't put the gutters on. As a result it rained heavily one day and the water ran down the side of the building. They were still in the process of tuck pointing the the side of the building. As a result i got water in my ceiling. The contractor who is on site finishing the project told me that they would not have to cut out the dry wall but instead could repair it by applying some type of substance and repaint it. Is this possible? Or is he taking the easy way out.
