I sanded, primed and painted the walls in the kitchen. Behind the fridge, paint will not stick. I repeated the steps and it still doesn't stick. What do I do? Original paint was perhaps oil based, new paint is latex.

You have to make sure that the surface is totally dry before you apply paint. Paint won't stick on wet surfaces.

Applying latex over oil usually doesn't work very well.
Applying primer should solve the problem, not any primer will work.
Go to your home improvement store and tell them what's going on, they can provide with the primer needed.
Hope this helps

My daughter bought a townhouse and PVA is not sticking to the bedroom walls. When the paint is wiped off the previous paint comes off onto the cloth. Do not know what the walls were painted with does not look like enamel. Many thanks
