I want to encapsulate and insulate my crawl space. I have already insulated the rim joist area with 3 layers of 2" rigid foam insulation. First question : the block walls... Should I put a vapor barrier directly on the block walls then rigid foam insulation, or rigid foam directly on the block wall then cover that to encapsulate? Second question. The crawl has OLD plastic on the dirt floor then it is covered with 2" to 3" of pea gravel. Can I put the NEW 20 MIL vapor barrier directly over the floor as it is?
