Interesting comments here. I did a huge Trex Accents deck too in Barrie north of Toronto Ontario. After 4 years the black mold spotting started and continued and did on other friends I know who have Trex. It is only in the areas that get sun. The part under the porch is still perfect. This of course is weird since mold likes shade.

As for cleaners, I tried Corte Clean but too much work and not long term effective. Never bleach a composite deck and no other traditional deck cleaner will work. I did however have great success with Concrobium Mold Stain Eraser. Like night and day before and after. Manufacturer rep came up from Toronto area and spent a day with me and all their products. They also have a commercial version which is stronger. (I have nothing to do with company, just satisfied consumer)

After all this I will not use Trex again, sold the house last year and used cedar for the new house deck. Composites just are not worth the additional money and the NO Maintenance Claim. Also, I can't stand to be worried with every party whether or not someone will spill some red wine on a composite and me making a mad dash to clean before it stains which it does very fast. Heck with that, beat up the good old fashioned wood deck and enjoy.
