I have a radient floor ground level in cement. I left a 1'x1' square hole in floor exposing the 4" drain line to city sewer line.
Now I want to tie into that line with a floor drain. I wont be able to move the line as its encased in concrete except where exposed. I must cut out a section to install a drain (a T with rubber seals on both ends?) . What problems can I have? The line goes from the laundry, to the hall way (where I want the drain to be) then travels to a small bathroom, then outside to the city drain.
Q: should I have a trap?
Should the drain cover be sealed & opened only when used to wash floor?
how to prevent back up from toilet (one way valve?)
What else do I need to be careful?
PS. I cannot afford to call in the big trucks, big bill, big pain dudes. I can do this with the right advise
