We have removed a number of trees from our two acre property. We have some areas where, when it rains, the soil becomes very muddy and takes a long time to dry out. We are thinking of putting in grass and are wondering if it would be wise to put down those mats that have grass seed in them? The reason I ask this is this: a great deal of construction has been going on here (we are in Mount Holly NC) where they are widening an access to I85. The men put down these long sheets along a hill and now grass is growing there -prevents mud slides, we believe. Would you suggest that for us or should we just till the soil, lay down seed - and then water? Need good advice. (our dogs love to roll around in that stuff and they are a mess).
