Had to replace back wall of townhouse to change window size. On this new construction, the contractor butt vinyl siding against side of windows (inside H channel between new vinyl windows flange and trim). Where window ended up being in middle of vinyl siding slat, the contractor cut sections out of the vinyl siding slat top/bottom, to go around the windows -- leaving holes in vinyl siding under and over windows.. The open hole in vinyl siding is hidden by sitting inside window H framing. Between windows the vinyl siding was cut and braced against the window and hidden inside the windows H channels. The vinyl siding is not attached to any window accessory. I know water is going to go in the hole and run behind the vinyl siding. My question is how to correct this?

It's J channel not H, since the nail strip was cut off to go around the window there is nothing to nail to. sometimes at the peak of the house,
the installer will trim the head of the nail and fasten the very peak. At that height the nail is not very visible but around the windows it would not look good. Most rain will not get behind the siding but wind blown rain could. Normally it is not problem.
