I bought a portable DF 3700/4500 120V 30 amp inverter generator to tie into my home electrical panel. I was just advised by my electrician that the gen needs to be 240v to tie in. In you article 'The Best Portable Generators for Backup Power' by Glenda Taylor, she writes the Champion has '...30A locking outlet for tying the generator into your home’s electrical panel.'

Which is correct? My electrician, or the article? Thanks in advance!

I am the writer of the original question posted above. What I neglected to include, both generators referenced in are 120v.
