I have a whirpool side by side fridge and I always notice that when it's time to clean it, i find what appears to be black burn marks, mostly in the freezer. What are they and is it something that I should be concern about?

Unless you regularly burn candles in your home and the black marks you're seeing is the soot from those candles condensing on the cold surfaces, I would suggest you have it looked into by an appliance service professional.
There is nothing in the fridge I can think of which would normally produce such stains. Some components as they fail might result on soot or carbonization in which case the marks may be a sign of something yet to come. :(

Hi,
Have seen "dust" like marks around the door opening and around the evaporator fan motor that may -appear- to be a burn like mark.
Just a thought.
