We have a giant open living room with (1) huge windows. And a lovely view of the mountains.

Our set-up....1 large sofa, loveseat, big chair that matches the sofa and loveseat, and a recliner. And a coffee table.

My question is..Do we set the furniture so that the large sofa is looking outside, nothing in from of the windows...or do we put the sofa in front of the windows, back to the windows? What is the norm??

It's normal to have the sofa facing the rooms focal point, if that's the view then face the windows, or is it a room you watch TV and gather at night? or curl up with a good book next to the fireplace?

The trick is to pick one focus and arrange the furniture around that . . . if it's just a place to sit and talk make it comfortable to that, putting the sofa and chairs close together.

Moving furniture is free, so try a bunch of options before settling on one.

First of all you should choose to better place for established as well as to surrounding the place which suit the existing place .
