I have a 4” cast iron main drain in my house, that someone has chiseled into and shoved a 1 ½” pvc pipe and epoxyed it in. This is the drain for the washing machine. Its not vented, and it it letting air into the system, and some waste water out. Is there a rubber grommet that I can get to seal this properly, or is there a better way to tie it in?

Cut out that section of pipe and install a proper connection using fernco couplers.

In addition to the above answer...a vent should be installed. erik
