I am having the hardwood floor in my 31-year house refinished with the plan that I reinstall the new shoe moulding. When they removed the existing shoe moulding, we found that the floor has sunk. In some areas there is a gap of up to 3/4 inch between the floor and the walls with cold air coming through.
Should the gaps be insulated before installing the new shoe moulding to prevent air leaks? If so what is the recommended material?
Any input on this matter will be appreciated. Thanks
