I own a 70 year old house in an urban area. I have been here for 6 years and all of a sudden I have noticed a smell right outside my front door. It smells a little like a match being lit-I guess that is sulphur, but I can't figure out where this would come from out of nowhere. Any suggestions? We have City sewers, there is no septic system I know of.

Call the Water Dept. Have them come out and find out where the smell is coming from. The smell can be many things, a clogged curb trap, a stagnant main, etc;etc.
