Over the last week I have noticed some problems with air in our well water lines. I looked at gauge and pressure drops down to almost 0 before pump comes on and then it goes up to 78. Sediment is also flowing through the lines and evident in bathtubs. Is is a pressure valve problem, or do I need to drain the cold water tank, or something else with the pump?

You may have a bad pressure switch. Normally set at 20/60 or 30/50. Additional if you have a diaphram tank that is pre-charged, the diaphram may have failed and thetank has lost it's air charge. If it has a schrader valve on top of the tank, check the pressure. If all else fails here's a web site that specializes in pressure boosting systems. www.davey.usa.com Good Luck, Tom EDIT MESSAGE. Sorry incorrect web addy. Omit the dot(.) after davey. The correct one is www.daveyusa.com
