I moved into my brand new home two months ago. The basement is completely finished. In the 'mechanical room' there is a sump pump. The fumes from this sump pump runs me right out of the basement! The smell is really bad and I believe it has caused me to have seven migraines during the seven weeks I have lived in this house.
The contractor is stumped as to what to do. We had the water tested, and it came back clear. I have been trying to locate someone who will come into the house and test the air quality, but the closest tester lives over 300 miles away.
It looks that this problem can't be fixed. I have to figure out how to contain the fumes from the sump pump in the 'mechanical room' so I can enjoy my finished basement! Any ideas???
