Can anyone suggest a user friendly book on how to best rewire between bottom rooms ceilings and light switches without tearing out the existing ceilings and walls. Current wiring is non-grounded "pencil" wiring held by the old timey ceramic holders. Thanks ATC

I don't know of a book devoted to the subject, maybe there is something in "Old Electrical Wiring" by David Shapiro.

Around here, we usually take apart the floor above. Takes a good bit of patience & skill, not recommended for a first project.
