i have a situation where i ran a new main line from the basement into the attic, now i have to connect that main for the one bedroom to two outlets and an overhead light with switch, how do i properly route this design

I would run the line into the light jbox. Then run 3 lines, 1 to each outlet and 1 to the switch. Use a large enough box so you don't get box overfill.

If this idea is to complicated - please call a licensed electrician. What you are trying to do is potentially dangerous and requires basic wiring knowledge. Jim Simmons - Mr Electric

thanks for the advice guys, i figured it out, i had to attach the white from the switch to the black on the overhead light then join all whites and all blacks separately in the junction box. thanks again.
