I'M TRYING TO PUT UP A CEILING FAN.BUT HERE
MY QUESTION.MY FAN HAS THREE WIRES BLACK,WHITE,BLUE.O.K. BUT UP IN MY CEILING
THERE THREE WIRES ALSO.BLACK,WHITE,RED AND
A GROUND.BUT DON'T HAVE A THREE WAY SWITCH
ON THE WALL.DO I NEED TO PULL THE SWITCH
COVER OFF AND SEE WHAT COLOR THEY ARE
USING AND HOOK THE FAN UP THE SAME WAY.

Yes, you need to open up the box with the switch and see what is there.
There is a good chance that the red wire is a "spare" so that you can replace the switch with fan controller that had a separate switch/dimmer for the line and a fan speed control.
