So in our one story, 3 bed, 2 bath house we have a confusing electrical problem. Both bathrooms power went out today. The hall bath light and fan won't turn on, but the outlets work. The master bath lights and fans won't turn on, but all of the outlets in there work, too! We checked the breaker box and nothing had flipped off. Flipped them all off & then on again, anyway...and no go. Any suggestions on what has happened here and/or a remedy? (P.S. We already tried the outlet reset buttons.)

It sounds like all of those are one circuit.

A breaker could have failed, but it is unlikely.

More like a bad connection some place in the circuit. Because of codes for newer houses the bathroom receptacles would be on separate circuits. I am guess that describes your house, but it is possible that it is a older home and the failure is in one of the connections at the bathroom receptacles.

But other receptacles in nearby spaces (hall or bedroom might be the circuit. And the failure might be at one of those receptacles.

You may also have a GFCI receptacle that has tripped. Look in bathrooms, garage, kitchen, outside.
