I will be installing vinyl siding to my home in the spring and I would like to educate myself on the subject. Are there any resources available that may be helpful?

First, I would seriously look at having it done by a pro. It is not rocket science, but there is any one of a number of issues, such as blowing out the windows, which may make it MUCH harder.
If you are determined to do it yourself, look at www.vinylsiding.org. This is the site for The VSI. It is The Vinyl Siding Institute (VSI) which is the trade association for manufacturers of vinyl siding and suppliers of raw materials, equipment and services to the vinyl siding industry.
There should be helpful info on this site.
GOOD LUCK!!

Thank you for your response, but I guess I didn't make myself very clear. I will be using a contractor to install the vinyl siding on my home. I guess I want to educate myself on what product(s) I should be purchasing (ie. 42-gauge, 46-gauge?) Is one brand better than another, and some info on installation so that I know it is being installed properly. Any suggestions?
