Can someone throw some ideas out here about how to stop a leaky roof myself as a do-it-yourselfer until we can get a professional out here to fix it? Can I crawl up on roof when it isn't raining and slap some epoxy up there or hot glue gun some shingles or slap some tar or some pavement sealer on it or something? Pls. advise. Desperate for any quick trick. THx.

I think it depends on a few things,

1-How bad is the leak

2-Are you handy

3-Do you have the proper equipment..

If it's a small leak and your handy, then maybe you can go up there and try to patch it up somehow.

I noticed you said, patch it up until the pro comes out...if you plan on calling a professional, just hang tight and wait for him.
