Last year I put an additional coat of solid color oil stain on my trim and deck.

I see this year that some of it is peeling or flecking away.

I'll obviously need to add a coat this year, but how can I make it last longer without peeling, curling, etc.?

Thanks in advance.

Some questions first?

Is it peeling to bare wood or a previous coat?

Did you use the same stain on both your deck and trim?

What kind of prep did you do?

On the deck, it's peeling to the wood.

On the trim, it's peeling to previous coat.

Same brand. But for the deck, I used Ace's deck product. And I used their trim product for the trim/porch.
