If you’re not using a tool box organizer system, you’re wasting time. I know from experience. I had been accumulating small hand tools for years, and found myself spending more and more time sorting through a mess to find what I needed. I finally picked up the KeFanta 42-Pack Tool Box Organizer a few months ago for about $20, and I’m glad I did. Now I have a dedicated spot for each tool, along with other hardware and supplies that I use most often.
KeFanta 42-Pack Tool Box Organizer
Buy at AmazonThe kit includes 42 plastic trays of three different sizes: 24 small (2.9 by 2.9 inches), 12 medium (9 by 2.9 inches), and 6 large (9 by 6 inches). All of the trays are 1.9 inches deep, so they fit perfectly in my tool box drawers. Each tray has a locking edge that pairs with the one beside it, turning a drawer full of trays into a single unit. The molded plastic material is thick and sturdy to withstand banging around in transport. The set is available in gray, blue, orange, or yellow.
The smallest trays are useful for storing bit driver attachments, quarter-inch drive sockets, small drill bits, electrical and pipe tapes, etc. I use the medium-sized trays for precision screwdrivers, picks, utility knives, mid-size drill bits, small pliers, scissors, and marking tools. The large trays store my measuring tape, small rolls of wire and string, and small tubes of glue lubricants, and paint. The set includes more trays than my 3-drawer tool box would hold, and that’s okay. I use the extras in drawers and shelves around the workshop.
The only downside to the KeFanta Tool Box Organizer system is the short length of the boxes. My ratchets, pliers, cutters, and large screwdrivers don’t fit in them. These trays are really best for keeping track of the small items that otherwise rattle around in the bottom of the box, and products like lubricants and touch-up paint that might leak and cause a mess. It turned out that those accounted for most of the junk in my tool box. With all of that stuff sorted and contained, I can instantly find whatever I need.
