Testing the Wolverine Infinity System
Wolverine advertises up to 234% more energy return in the heel and 142% more impact absorption than the category leader. In the field, my husband said the difference was noticeable:

Both pairs handled harsh job site conditions—mud, wet grass, gravel—without leaks or slips. The DuraShocks outsole gripped well on slick surfaces, while the EnergyBound foam felt springy even after hours of wear.
Fit, Comfort, and Protection

The Wolverine Alpha boot is built for all-day support and comfort, with Infinity System cushioning that reduces fatigue even on concrete floors. The soft-toe version my husband tested felt lighter and more flexible, making it a good match for jobs that don’t require toe protection.
For those who want added safety, you can order the Alpha with an optional safety toe, but we like the soft toe version. We think the boot we tested is best suited for tradespeople who want lightweight comfort and strong ankle support but don’t need a safety toe every day.
