I RECENTLY AM HAVING MY BASEMENT CONVERTED INTO A BEDROOM FOR MY DAUGHTER AND A LIVING ROOM/KITCHEN COMBO.

BUT SHE LIKES TO PLAY RAP MUSIC AND DOES NOT LIKE TO LOWER THE VOLUMN.

IS THERE ANY SPECIAL SOUND PROOFING MATERIAL THAT CAN BE PURCHASED THAT CAN BE PROBABLY USED WITH A GOOD INSULATION??

ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR INSULATING THE CEILING AS WELL AS SOUNDPROOFING MATERIAL?? (I AM PLANNING ON PUTTING IN A DROP CEILING.)

3 1/2 inch batts should be sufficient. You'll find most of the noise will come up through the stairs/door and the ductwork. I speak from experience - finished basement and teenagers.

Also insulate the walls.
