Usually I like to use a 55 gallon plastic drum. 18" is a little tight. If you get around to the battery pump consider putting it on it's own discharge pipe & try to mount it seprate from the sump pump. The set up drawing has it's hassles in the feild. They are a pretty good pump. There's 3 models to choose from. C.

what it looks like is footer is about 8 inches thick basic at the bottom of the footer is where stone stops and dirt starts and pipe was just laying on dirt. is it ok to dig that down deeper so this pipe will be on a few inches of stone? i would be going deeper than the bottom of the footer. By the looks of it over the last few yrs that level at the bottom of the footer is about equal to where the water level stays at in the sump pump. so if thats the water table levelwould i want my pipe lower than that or what ? Thanks cableman
