The automatice ice maker in my refrigerator suddenly stopped making ice. It was working great one day and not at all the next. It doesn't seem to be putting water into the tray. Is there anything I can try before calling a repairman.

Thank you.

*The water supply is connected to my reverse osmosis system.

Ice makers seem to last from 5 to 10 years. If yours is of that age, it may be cheaper to get a replacement from local parts supplier. Usually cost about $100 to $130 and a repairman can run you that much. They are easy to install.

I'm with Ldoyle. They're usually cheaper to replace than repair.

you could verify that you have water going into the refrigerator by loosening one of the water connections at the back...see if any water leaks out. Then, if you have a water filter inside the refrigerator, check to make sure it is not clogged.
