Currently have been installing Bosch brand. My question is: Why on some models are the controls located on the top, and on others the controls are located on the front? The problem with the top mounted control board is if you have a C/Top that overhangs a little (Granite, Corian, Etc.) The control board is hard to access. All the features are identical, but not the location of the control board. Thanks, Tom

** Why on some models are the controls located on the top [edge of the door]. **

Presumably so visitors don't know you have a dishwasher. If a custom door panel kit was also installed, it would just look like any of the other cupboards.

It was also pointed out to me today that that design feature is also handy if you have children that like to play with knobs (I suppose and if you can't be bothered to teach them not to).
