I think this is the rigt place to post my note.
I am a new home owner and was very suprised to learn that my house ( a semi-detached 2 stroy twin built in 1988 ) is simply constructed of wood frame walls, insulation, 1 inch pink foam board, tyvex paper and then vinyl siding!!!! ( plus drywall on the inside )
My gosh - is that it ??? I beleive today homes have plywood then tyvex plus siding.
My questions:
1. Should I be concerned about the integrity of my house ? - is there anything I should look out for or can do to make it stronger ?? ( Heck - someone could probably cut their way into my house.
2. What should I look for in the future ? I like stucco but I heard that sometimes they use 1 inch foam board and then a thin layer of stucco??
Sorry for the long note but any thoughts and suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks much - jg1234 - concerend homeowner..
