hi my question is in new jersey 10 years ago i was charging 10 a sq foot for p/t decking and i was getting it with no problem and now i try to go with $15 SQ FOOT AND I DONT GET ANY CALL BACK. NOW, SOMEONE ASK ME TO GIVE HIM A PRICE FOR LABOR ON A 4600 SQ FOOT P/T DECK AND I WAS GOING TO TELL HIM $5 A SQ FOOT. DO YOU THINK THAT IS A GOOD price? TY DAVE

Hi D,
From personal experience I would try and stick to your guns about the prices that you offer. I am finding that work has slowed in some areas quite a bit. I (and this is personal opinion) think this is due more to the economy than anything else. People are just not spending like they used to. This will eventually lead to the lessening of most prices but for now keep asking. Talk to other contractors in your area to get an idea of how they are faring. Communication is the key to staying current. I hopr this helps.....MJH
