I am almost finished with my installation, but I need to make rectangular shaped cuts around three metal sliding door "supports" that come down to the subfloor; and as luck would have it, the cuts need to be made in the middle of the length of each tile (not on the corners). The cuts will be 3/4" deep by 2" wide and 1" deep by 3" wide. I have a wet saw, but with my experience cutting the straight edges, I know that I will inevitably break the tiles when I make the deep cuts and then how do I make the wide ones? Will nippers do the trick on porcelain floor tile or is there another way?
