ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Name: Mark Wolfe
Title: Staff Writer, BobVila.com

Expertise and Experience
Early in his career, Mark fell in love with plants. Working for a stormwater management company shortly after college, he marveled at the willow’s ability to quickly grow from a stem fragment and heal a sorely eroded streambank, and the ways that aquatic plants transform a suburban retention pond into a wildlife oasis. Over the next two decades, trees, shrubs, annuals, and perennials would dominate his working life as a landscaper and nursery manager.
In 2014, after a decade in garden-center management, Mark began freelance writing on a part-time basis. He co-founded a blog called ThePrudentGarden.com and soon began contributing work for sites such as Dave’s Garden and HGTV, and brands such as WORX Tools and AMDRO. Since 2020, Mark has been a contributor for BobVila.com, adding home improvement and consumer review content to his repertoire along with his garden and landscape expertise. In fall 2021, Mark stepped into the realm of print media by serving as a technical editor for the second edition of the book Trees, Shrubs, and Hedges For Your Home from Fox Chapel Publishing.
