Danielle Fallon-O'Leary, Contributing Writer

About

Danielle Fallon-O’Leary writes on home improvement and entrepreneurship topics. She draws from her experience working summers and weekends for her father’s general contracting business, now running the company’s blog and social media accounts. She also writes content for several B2B clients, with a focus on small businesses and start-ups.

Experience

Danielle’s passion for home improvement began at an early age, working summers and weekends for her father’s general contracting company, Fallon Contracting. (She subsequently spent much of her childhood in the aisles of various home improvement stores and loves the smell of fresh-cut wood.) Danielle considers herself lucky to have gained hands-on skills from working on various jobs, including building decks, replacing siding, and even finishing a basement with a new bathroom and bedroom.

Today, Danielle helps manage Fallon Contracting’s blog and social media presence through her work with Lightning Media Partners, a content marketing agency. Through Lightning Media Partners, she’s also gained valuable insights into the world of entrepreneurship by writing content for B2B businesses geared toward start-ups and small-business owners.

Outside of work, Danielle enjoys tackling home repairs and home improvement projects with her husband. She also works part-time as a speech therapist.

Education

Danielle earned a Master of Science in communicative sciences and disorders from New York University.

Best DIY Advice

“Research first, especially if you’re tackling a new type of project, to avoid sunk time and costs. In that research, be honest with yourself about whether your intended project is DIY-able or if it’s best left to a professional.”
