Why use pressure treated wood instead of metal stud for baseplate on a framed wall in the basement?

Dear Mike,
Though I tend to stay away from basement renovations and grew up in New Jersey, I'll try to explain. Metal studs are subject to rust. Even though they're galvanized, the humidity level underground in that local will rust them after a few years. If one uses pressure treated lumber for a base plate, and uses end cut treatment on all cuts, that baseplate will last for 40 years or more. I don't do basements because the customer is never happy with the result. Most simply WILL NOT listen when I explain why I need to do it "this way".
Hope I helped.
