My husband noticed yesterday that one of the roof beams is buckling & the rafter is cracked. The house was built in 1981. We called our insurance & was given a claim #. We are hoping that it is covered. At the smae time, we called the company that replaced our roof 2 years ago & left a message in the answering machine. My question is:
1. Do we need a different contractor that specializes in this type of problem or can the roofing guy fix it?
2. Has anyone experienced the same problem & did their insurance cover the whole thing or part of it?
3. I know that you can't give us an estimate w/o seeing the damage but does anyone know the range, say b/w $5,000 to $10,000 or is it more?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
