I have a 109 year old victorian. It has a stone foundation that make up the walls in my basement. I think it's sandstone. I'm assuming someone had tried to paint it some time ago with white paint. I want to recover every wall, as well as seal it for cleaning purposes and cosmetic reasons. If I hit it with the broom, dirt and paint fall off. Could someone recommend what to use.

In addition, I would like to cover the basement floor with some type of sealant and paint for the same reasons mentioned above. I need recommendations for this as well. Nothing has been done to the floor. It' just a smoothed, finished concrete.
Thanks
