We bought our first house back in April and are attempting to install a set of french doors to the opening of one of our rooms. The opening measures 72 3/8" W x 81 1/4" H.

I went to ********** today and the door they sell (Masonite Interior) was 72" x 80". They also require 4" plus for the jambs and cannot size down the edges of the doors but can cut the top down. So, the only option through them would be to go to a 5 foot door and fill in the sides, which I don't want to do.

I also have a call into a regional building supply company to check on a door.

The rub is that I am not comfortable doing the install and had hoped HD would have done it if they had the product to fit.

So, it looks like we'll buy a door from the local building supply company and have a carpenter install it.

If that doesn't work, our last option is to get a door custom built.

Anyway - I was just throwing this out there for any thoughts, advice or comments.

Thanks.
