Hi folks, i am about to buy and install 2 replacement windows (here in BC Canada, they are being called 'rebate' windows i believe).. I have installed a few new construction windows, but never the rebate type. I found a rebate window that is 1 inch too narrow, and thought i could save about 3 weeks wait, buy it, and install a filler onto the existing aluminum window frame, the seal it up.

Can anyone comment on this idea, would i be asking for trouble, or with proper sealing, should this be acceptable? It can save me lots of time and money if it works, thanks kindly, drew..
