Hello. Someone, please help! I was ignorantly trying to clean the glass on the inside of our oven door (Estate by Whirlpool Corporation; model #TES325MQ 3) before family arrived to stay with us for the week and I unscrewed all six screws from the inside of the oven door (I had no clue that the front glass would fall out, the top handle would pop off, the side pieces would pop out and break, or that I was supposed to "lock" the bottom hinges in place first when I did this). I managed to break both rather expensive plastic side trim pieces, but worse than that, our oven door now will not stay in the open position; it keeps springing shut. I recently lost my job, have been looking for work, had to take our dog to the vet and incurred a hefty bill, and cannot afford to call in a repairman. If you know how to fix an oven door that springs shut and will not stay fully opened, please, PLEASE let me know what I need to do. Thank you very much!

The oven springs/hinges are not broken. Once reassembling the door (putting the glass back in, top back on, etc.) the weight of the door was enough to overcome the spring and prevent it from springing closed when dropped to the fully open position. I did not believe it until I saw it for myself!
