Is it possible or wise to place new laminate over an existing laminate kitchen counter? If so any suggestions or hints.

It is certainly possible, but not advisable, especially when considering the age of the existing wood the laminate is on. That is not the best wood to begin with and over time it warps, etc. It also expands and deteriorates if water has managed to lay on it.

Dear DMONSTER,
I've relaminated over the existing for years without problems. The trick is to sand the old laminate before utilizing the contact cement. The wood should not be a problem unless it has been water soaked. Just make sure there is no water content before starting.
