converting a gas dryer to an electric dryer

More than the cost of a new electric dryer (if not 2-3 times as much). Such a change is not realistic.

Gas dryers are cheaper than electric. Why would you convert gas to electric? Are you asking how to convert the hook-up to electric or the actual dryer? To buy an electric all you would have to do is cap the gas line and run 220 wiring over to the dryer.
I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to change the insides of a dryer to convert it.
