My washing machine leaks--it does so mostly when I am soaking a load, and a little during a normal cycle. If I am soaking a load, up to 2-3 inches of water leaks from the drum onto the floor.

I'd appreciate any advice on what it might be and if is is something a fairly handy person could attempt to fix and what part(s) I would need to order/replace.

Thanks in advance!

** Kenmore washing machine **

Sears has sold many different washer models over the years made by several different manufacturers. Only the machine's complete *model number* will allow us to find out which washer design you're dealing with and what parts it has which could be responsible for problems. Please post that information.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number tag on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my web site linked below.

"Soaking" as in the machine NOT running? If so, there could be a hole in the tub or a leak in some part of the washer's internal hoses or water carrying parts.

I'm afraid someone will likely need to actually look into it to determine the *exact* origin of the leak. Once we know that, we may be able to suggest how to proceed.
