I have a GE Dryer that is 14 years old. It drys fine, but is sounding MUCH LOUDER lately. Any thoughts on what to check?? It does not whine, or squeal --- the motor is just LOUDER!!

** GE Dryer that is 14 years old **

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number.

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

** the motor is just LOUDER!! **

Does it sound the same with the belt removed from it?

Nothing affecting its blower fan? Maybe something has gotten in there and is rubbing??

There are only two possibilities I can think of for the motor being noisier than usual; something is putting added strain it or the motor may be failing and is giving you notice.
