Outdoor wire-in light control
I purchased a Sears garage door opener and also their Indoor/Outdoor Wire-in Light Control at the same time (1995) to operate my outdoor light with my remote. I need a new control and Sears no longer carries this item, so I am looking for something comparable. Help! I have checked almost everywhere for this and with no luck. Thanks!
The Sears garage door openers from this era are made by Chamberlain. The have a website with all sorts of remotes and other parts. You also can do a web search for Chamberlain garage door remotes.

Are you looking for a replacement wire-in light control? I, too, am looking for this item. Have you had any luck finding one?
Chamberlain make the Chamberlain, Liftmaster, and Sears units.
Chamberlain and Sears are the same except for cosmetics and are desgined for DIY installs. Liftmaster is the "pro" unit and comes with a one piece rail systems.
They all use the same motors, control boards, gears, remotes, etc.
I have not seen a wired in receiver, but you might check with these people.

A google on garage door remotes will find similar companies.
And you will need the model number (139.xxxx) of the opener or the color of the Learn button as there have been different radio systems used over the years.

You might have to look at some home automation equipment. The garage door remote people have a little, but places like smarthome.com have much more.
Going that route you might need to buy a new remote & receiver kit for the garage door, about $ 60-80 and new wireless keypad if that is used.

I would like to purchase a wire-in switch sears PN 139.53773. Please let me know if one is available and the price please.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I do not know the Sears model number, but the customer service people at Chamberlain probably can help you.
The cost would be $7.00, plus actual shipping.

Thanks! I have emailed Chamberlain to see if they carry the switch. If you know of any switches available, please let me know.
They are model 772CB. I don't know the comparable Sears model number, but Chamberlain makes all the Sears openers and switches. You can contact Chamberlain, and they can check their database to see if the ones I have are compatible with the one you need. Just let me know!
Had same prob. Took controller apart and found a wire from the carbon pile rectifier had become loose from the circuit board. Resoldered it and it works fine. Rectifier and circuit board are located in controller part under the dark plastic cap; ie., the part that fits into the wall. It apparently gets pretty hot when left on for awhile (like overnight) even with only about half of the 500 watt max load, and the solder connection melted loose.
i found the chamberlain switch that is compatiblw with the 772Cb. Do you still have any and if so, how much?
