Installed a window a/c in master bedr. and it apparently leaks. I chucked it out the window and sealed the window up with plastic. Can I just apply heat and dry the wall out or do I need to replace the wood that got wet? How do I permanently remove the window and leave just enough for the a/c?
Oh yeah, this is on a house trailer that has metal siding on the outside.

Have you thought about perhaps replacing the window and in the bay below or in another location placing the a/c? That way you'll be able to flash it & cut the opening to the exact size, plus have the benefit of fresh air & light?

I have not considered just fixing the window and installing the a/c in another part of the wall. Primarily since there are two windows in the masterbedroom. My biggest problem is that there is a 2 sq ft area with black mold and the baseplate and 2 studs were soaking in freshwater. they are now a dark brown. I have contemplated sealing the wall back up and scarfing a new piece into the floor but there is the baseplate.
