I had the electrical inspection on an addition I’m building and the inspector passed it subject the following note by the inspector: “install side-cars on receptacle boxes with two sets of wire.” The receptacle boxes he tagged are those in the middle of the wiring circuit with two sets of wire- one entering the box from the prior receptacle in the circuit and a second that leads to the next receptacle. My question is what are side-cars? The inspector is out for two weeks and I would like to correct the problem so I can begin to install the drywall.

Thanks to anyone with insight.
