Help!! I need to make some important decisions about my roof. Here's the situation, flat top that leaking and damaging my interior ceilings and walls. Beyond the obvious, the walls along the roof top (what do you call them?) are starting to buckle in on rear portion of the building (on both sides)...is this a firewall or coupling or something? Anyway, I have had 3 professionals say turn up the roof and have 2 feet of brick reset. Another 3 say lay rubber over the roof and ignore the bulging bricks...they won't fall...just repair tuckpointing. Prices range from $1,500 to $15,000.

I don't know what to do but I want to do something now! Any suggestions??

If the roof is leaking and the wall is buckling, I would say the old roofing needs to come off. Way too many contractors are looking for the fast buck and will loose no sleep selling you a short term coverup. If it has been leaking for any time at all you could have rotten decking and or rafters. To do it right the first time will always be less expensive then repairing the quick fix / coverup.
