I had Velux sky lites put in my new family room in my past home. I now live at the shore and I would like to have Velux sky lites installed in my existing two year old ashphalt roof. Do they have a tendancy to leak when installed in an existing roof like this?

As long as they are installed correctly, there is no reason for them to leak at all. Velux is the best.

All skylights can have a tendency, depending on the house style and multiple other considerations in building science, to attract condensation that often presents itself as though leaking. Try to avoid having it right over your writing desk or anything like that.

Make sure to get the correct flashing kit for the way each skylight is oriented.
